This is a call into having abundant
living. You cannot be totally happy and you cannot say that your joy is complete if the people around you are sad, uncomfortable and troubled.
As the saying goes " no man is an island", so it is. The measure of one's success or fulfillment is by the condition of the people around him/her.
So many souls are languishing Today because of one reason or the other, don't you think there is something you can do to salvage their situation?, don't you think that you can help in your own little way?. Do you leave them as you found them?.
The greatest investment you could ever think of is people or human investment. Take time to observe the present condition of the people around you and also check within you, what you can do to help them. You can only be happy when they are.
My uncle's wife once shared with me the advice she gave her husband, my uncle. She said that she encouraged my uncle to keep on helping his brothers even when they don't appreciate or value his help towards them. Reason being that there will become a liability or setback to him in the future if he doesn't help them stand to their feet today.
Do you know that the people you refuse to help today can in one way or the other constitute a setback tomorrow?. Because when you realize what you should have done very late in life, it keeps hunting you and the fact that these people see you in a better position by this time, they keep on coming to you, sapping you, when you should have helped them to stand and by then so any of them have been broken in their spirit which makes it difficult for you to help them stand for themselves and making them forever dependant on you. And when this becomes the case, as a human, you start losing it. You start losing focus, joy, peace of mind and finally after confusion has set in, you see your world shattering and crushing down.
Show a little kindness today. Invest in people for posterity's sake.
You never know whom your help will come from tomorrow.
